Made 2 Fire
Studio Rules
1
Keep Our Studio Happy & Clean
At Made 2 Fire, we believe creativity can get a little messy — and that’s the fun part!
But after you create, please take a few minutes to clean up your space.
Wipe down the table, mop around your wheel, wash your tools, and put everything back where it belongs.
Everyone deserves to enjoy their pottery time in a fresh, clean studio — just like you did when you arrived.
2
No Dust, Please
For everyone’s health, please don’t sand inside the studio — clay dust can harm your lungs and linger in the air.
If you need to sand your piece, please do it outside and better to wear a mask. Please avoid using Dremel tools indoors as well.
Wet sanding is okay inside — just make sure to keep the area clean and tidy afterwards.
Our health matters to each of us — keeping the air clean is a way of respecting both yourself and everyone around you.
3
Glaze with Care
Please don’t add water to glazes or underglazes unless you’re guided to do so — they’re delicate mixtures that like to stay just as they are.
If you’re ever unsure, feel free to ask any of our team members — we’re always happy to help.
Before placing your piece on the glaze shelf, please wax and wipe the bottom clean.
Pieces that don’t follow the glazing guidelines may not be fired, and if careless glazing causes kiln damage, we may need to charge a small repair fee.
4
Clay Matters
Clay can only be purchased from the studio — this keeps our firing and recycling process consistent.
Before washing your bin, please toss any unwanted or unused clay into the recycling buckets.
Try your best to keep clay out of the sink or small drains — rinse your tools in the clay buckets first.
And please don’t put bisqueware or glazeware in the recycling bins — they can’t be reworked.
A little care helps us keep the studio clean, the plumbing happy, and the earth a little greener.
5
Tools and Equipment
We have a shared set of basic tools for everyone to use — feel free to grab what you need, just remember to clean them and return them to their place afterwards.
You’re also very welcome to bring your own favorite tools — every artist has their little companions!
Let’s keep our shared tools cared for, so they can keep taking care of us.
6
Share the Space
Respect other artists’ work and shelf space. Do not touch others’ greenware, bisqueware, glazeware, or tools without permission.
7
Sign Your Work
Please remember to mark your name or initials on each of your pieces.
If you’re in a workshop, stamp your workshop number.
If you’re a member, use your unique mark or stamp — it’s part of your artist’s identity here at Made 2 Fire.
8
Pets
Friendly pets are welcome!
Medically necessary service animals are always allowed.
9
Fired Work Pick-Up
Please remember to pick up your bisque and glazed works as soon as they’re ready — our shelves get full of beautiful creations quickly.
We clear unclaimed pieces regularly to make space for new work, so please check in often and take your pieces to your shelf or home when they’re done.
