PART- TIME INSTRUCTORS

Position Overview

We’re looking for part-time Pottery Instructors who specialize in either wheel throwing or hand building. Instructors will teach 6-week series classes and/or one-time workshops, helping students learn, create, and enjoy the process of working with clay in a supportive, inspiring environment.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, welcoming, and encouraging atmosphere that nurtures creativity and community

  • Prepare thoughtful class setups  organize tools, clay, and demo pieces to create an inspiring learning space

  • Teach engaging hand building and/or wheel throwing classes for adults; demonstrate techniques clearly and safely, guiding students through each step of the process

  • Wrap up each session by cleaning and resetting the space, ensuring the studio remains calm, organized, and ready for the next class

 

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of pottery teaching or studio experience

  • Strong technical skills in wheel throwing and/or hand building

  • Knowledge of clay bodies, glazes, and firing processes

  • Positive, patient, and encouraging teaching style

  • Reliable and available for part-time hours (evenings/weekends preferred)

JOIN OUT TEAM

PART- TIME STUDIO TECH

Position Overview

We’re looking for a part-time Studio Assistant to support daily studio operations and help maintain a clean, safe, and creative environment. This role works closely with instructors and members to ensure smooth firing, glazing, and general upkeep of the studio.

Responsibilities

  • Trim ceramic pieces from one-time experiences

  • Assist with kiln operations: loading and unloading

  • Mix and replenish studio glazes and clay as needed

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and studio cleanliness

  • Monitor members’ work to ensure proper drying and firing schedules

  • Help recycle clay and prepare clay for classes

 

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience working in a pottery studio or similar environment

  • Basic knowledge of clay, glazes, and firing processes

  • Comfortable handling studio equipment (kilns, pugmill, mixer, etc.)

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

  • Available for working on weekends

  • Able to lift and move up to 50+ lbs of clay or materials
